We had previously worked with Doug when we built our house. We have always appreciated his work ethic and knowledge of both home construction and sales. In selling our property we wanted someone who had extensive knowledge in both of these areas to help guide us thru the sales process. Doug helped us set a realistic market value of our property we. He communicated with us thru every step of the sales process. We would definitely ask Doug to help us sell a property again.

Our home had been listed with another broker since October or November, hitting the market in December. They switched firms several months into the contract. In the time they had the listing they had 2 open houses where no one attended and I believe they had 4 showings. In the first 2 weeks Doug had the listing I believe we had 8 showings. His knowledge and experience with the market area was a huge asset. He kept us informed rapidly of any activity and made himself available anytime. He was a pleasure to work with and we would highly reccommend him.

Once things started moving, I believe Doug went well above and beyond. I had never sold a house before and was very nervous and concerned. I never knew exactly what to expect, what to do, etc. I always had a 'ton' of questions. In addition, what he was trying to sell was not the easiest property. Though the new buyer had a lot of demands, the final result is that I no longer have to deal with the property. The selling price far exceeded my original expectations.

We called Doug Birkey when we first saw a home on Zillow that he had listed. We were totally impressed with Doug's expertise, willingness to spend the time with our questions, and his quick responses. On our first call from out of state he explained the costs and benefits of geothermal heating and it was like answering a question I did not know to ask. We did much communication long distance and Doug made the effort to accommodate that. For example he met our daughters for a "walk through" where we FaceTimed to see a home we were interested in. We also found his winning personality and long time experience in home sales generating our genuine trust in him. Doug was professional and great with follow through. For a few examples, he researched information on some of our property questions, and when he was not available to show us a home he arranged for another agent to meet with us, and he also helped facilitate a long distance closing. We would not hesitate to recommend him to others needing an agent! Outstanding!

Buying a home can be a stressful process but I really enjoyed getting to know Doug and appreciated his experience in home building and real estate to make this a seemless process for me. I was going on vacation (literally at the airport) when Doug notified me that another offer was submitted on the property I was interested in. He talked through my options and made sure I was submitting a competitive offer that was fortunately accepted! He even drove to my bank to pick up the earnest money the next day since I was out of town, and continued to exceed my expections through closing.
